Free Trees Please
I think Dr. Seuss should've written that book.
I
I
Love
They are so right on about everything.
- Branches always lifted high. They give praise to their Maker at all times, no matter their circumstances.
- They give shade; protection; support; food; paper; warmth. They give up everything for others.
- They always reach out to their neighbors.
- So much variety, and they're not at all embarrassed about it.
- They are tall. Way taller than I am. They just keep up reaching up and up and up.
- Trees do what they're supposed to ... in season, out of season.
- So beautiful. I think the root word of beauty is TREE. (Sorry, I know that's a dumb thing to say. What?! I'm in love, man.)
- They have roots, and they will sink them as deeply as they're allowed. I wish I could even be comfortable with that.
So I put them all over my walls.
I plan my vacations around them. When I was littler, I climbed them. And yes, sometimes I hung upside down from them by my skorts.
Hope to be like a tree when I grow up:
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;2but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;2but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
(Psalm 1:1-3, ESV)
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
(Psalm 1:1-3, ESV)
